China, Japan and South Korea, as three major countries in East Asia, play a vital role in this region and even in the world. Although I am a student majoring in International Politics, it still remains difficult for me to figure out some of the issues within the three countries. To enhance my understanding about the three countries, I applied to this program and decided to continue the study in this sub–‐region. After one year’s study in the University of Tokyo, I would say it is so lucky to be a Campus Asia student and I enjoyed the study and life in Tokyo.

Firstly, the study in Tokyo is fantastic and goes beyond my expectation. Different from what I have learned in Peking University, I have had the chance to study macroeconomics and microeconomics, and developed the insights and perspectives into economic. Graspp offers a variety of courses and they even kindly offer Japanese Language classes. Fortunately, I took the Japanese language classes and improved my Japanese. I believe what I have learned in Todai is meaningful and beneficial for my whole life.

Secondly, the life in Tokyo is colorful and amazing. Tokyo is such a great city that I fell in love with this city when I first arrived. Japanese people are so kind that even strangers would help foreigners with luggage or show directions. Since I lived in Komaba International Lodge, I had the chance to make a lot of friends there. Japanese people are so nice to us international students and some organizations offered Japanese cultural experience activities for us frequently. By participating in these interesting activities, I learned more about Japanese culture and its nice people. It is really enlightening and meaningful to exchange ideas with people from different countries and try to understand what other people think and trust, which updated my own perspective and perception about many issues.

Last but not the least, my study in Todai influenced my career choice. By learning a different major from my home university, I developed interest in economics and finance. Before I came to Tokyo, I have planned to continue my study in International Politics and do research. Now, I determined to work for a few years and then decide whether to go for a PhD or not.

In brief, I really appreciated the opportunity of studying and living in Tokyo, where I learned a lot of things and made many friends. I want to thank our teachers sincerely for what they have done for us and wish them all the best.
