Objectives/Overview

My main goal in this lecture is to enable you, through the study of fundamental concepts and ideas of macroeconomics, to analyze practical macroeconomic problems on your own. I also wish to fill in the gap between intermediate and advanced macroeconomics by emphasizing the microfoundations of macroeconomics, which are essential at the advanced level of study. From that perspective, while I will spend much of the time on the traditional Keynesian model, I will also discuss more recent approaches in the latter half of the semester.
