Objectives/Overview

This is an intensive seminar on contemporary international politics in East Asia. The seminar covers various aspects, both structural and issue-based, of international politics in East Asia mainly from the 1980s to the first decade of the 21st century. The following are the major subjects to be discussed in the seminar:

1. Overview of International Politics in East Asia
2. Theoretical Perspectives of International Politics in East Asia
3.The United States
4. China
5. Japan
6. The Korean Peninsula
7. Regionalism in East Asia
8. Future of International Politics in East Asia

The seminar is conducted in English. Students are required to make frequent oral presentations based on assigned readings.
