Objectives/Overview
You are to write the Thesis on a selected specific topic based on your research findings through literature review, interviews, data analysis or other detailed research and analysis.
The academic advisor will give advice on your research topic and research plan, supervise on research methods and academic references, as well as give other advices to assist student in the writing of the Thesis. The Thesis submitted will be assessed through an oral examination, and upon passing of which will be awarded of relevant credits. Details will be posted on the bulletin boards etc (Student Bulletin Board：2012-10-03).
Teaching Methods
You must receive supervision from your academic advisor when writing the Thesis. Students must gain consent of a faculty member to become their academic advisor. The Thesis should have an approximate character count of no more than 100,000 characters (Japanese) and 35,000 words (English). You must submit the Thesis by the pre-determined date set in May or December of your 2nd year of study.
Grading
Determined by peer review and oral examination.
Notes on Taking the Course
Students are not allowed to do the Thesis in their first year of study.
For students who wish to continue with the PhD program with Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the Thesis is compulsory.
授業の目標・概要
選定した特定の研究課題について、文献調査、インタヴュー、資料分析、その他の綿密な調査と分析を行い、それに基づく研究成果をまとめ、これを研究論文として作成する。研究課題に応じて指導教員は、研究課題の確定及び課題に関する研究計画の策定等について助言を与え、研究方法や参考文献の指示、その他の助言等を行うことによって、学生の研究論文の作成を支援する。提出された研究論文に対して口述試験を行い、これを通過することによって所定の単位を与える。

授業の方法
研究論文を作成するには、指導教員の指導を受けなければならない。学生は指導教員となることを希望する教員に、指導教員になることの承諾を求めなければならない。
分量は100,000字以内を目安とする。2年次の12月又は5月の所定の日までに提出しなければならない。
成績評価方法
査読審査及び口述試験による。
履修上の注意
1年次は履修不可。

本学法学政治学研究科博士課程へ進学を希望する場合は、必ず履修すること。
