科学技術イノベーション政策について、官公庁や調査研究機関等において政策形成やそのために必要なエビデンスの構築に携わる能力、科学技術イノベーション政策を研究する能力を涵養する。具体的には、広義の科学技術イノベーション政策について、政策プロセス・制度またはエビデンス構築を対象に、グループワークを中心とした事例研究を行う。各学生には、個別の専門領域に閉じることなく、横断的な協働を通じて問題解決を図り、政策を企画立案分析する素養の体得を期待する。

This course is designed to develop necessary skills for collecting and assembling evidence for public policy-making at government agencies and research institutions, as well as skills for conducting research on science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy. Students are encouraged to learn across academic disciplines; they are expected to work with other students from different departments/schools toward problem-solving and develop necessary skills for analyzing public issues and planning/evaluating public policy.

授業の方法 / Teaching Methods
オムニバス形式による講義（前半）とグループワーク（後半）による科学技術イノベーション政策に関する検討を行う。グループワークについては３つのテーマのなかからひとつを選択して集中的に検討する。

In the first half of the course, prominent scholars and practitioners in the field of STI policy will provide lectures in order to develop student’s fundamental understanding of such policies. In the latter half, students (in groups) will prepare case studies on policy-making processes and institutions or assemble evidence for particular public policy issues.
SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION FROM JAPANESE TO ENGLISH WILL BE OFFERED FOR GUEST SPEAKER LECTURES.
