Case Study (International Conflict)

Faculty

Kiichi Fujiwara

Description

By taking specific cases of international conflicts, this seminar will focus on the actual causes and individual choices taken by the actors in that conflict. This is not a lecture course; I will offer you a casebook which includes brief summaries of a number of conflicts as well as a set of questions, and you must be prepared to present your own views on the questions in the case book. The four cases are Yugoslavia, Congo, Cambodia, and Afghanistan. You are encouraged to take initiative in the discussions in class. Grades will be based on such participation.
