Applied Econometrics

Faculty

Y.J. Choi

Description

This course covers empirical techniques available in applied research. Students learn how these empirical techniques relate to economic theory and what insights and analysis can be drawn from estimation of economic models. Limitations and pitfalls as well as merits of econometric methods will be discussed.

In the class, we will move from brief explanation of models to empirical analysis more focusing on applied work. A series of applied empirical exercises will be carried out so that students learn how to choose and modify methods to other problems of their own research interest.
