Description

This is an introductory course on contemporary American politics. In the first part, the lecture will touch upon the constitutional framework and basic institutions such as the Presidency and Congress. Then, it will proceed to the explanation of political process such as election, political parties, interest groups, and policy-making process. In the third part, such topics as religion, ideology, political culture, and various policy issues will be explored. There will be some analysis of the G.W. Bush Administration and the 2008 Presidential election at the end of course.
