International Workshop

February 16, 2005, GraSPP held an international workshop “Public policy reform and role of graduate school of public policy in Asia” coorganized by University of Tokyo 21st Century Center of Excellence (COE) Program “Invention of Policy Systems in Advanced Countries: Building a Synergy Core for Comparative Policy System Studies” .

Reporters from overseas include Professor Mukul Asher, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore, Vice Dean Hui Weng Tat, LKYSPP, National University of Singapore, Professor Yong-Duck JUNG, Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University, Assistant Professor Pai Fan Lee, Department of Public Administration, Peking University.

Dean Akira Morita, Graduate School of Public Policy, Associate Professor Hideaki Shiroyama and COE Visiting Professor Yuichi Okumura, Graduate School of Law and Politics (Executive Vice President, Institute of Developing Economies, JETRO) of The University of Tokyo attended the workshop. Through discussions, background of graduate school of public policy or public administration establishment and characteristics of each program became clear and participants had good opportunities to open the door for examining specific possibilities of collaboration in the future.
