COURSE: Winter intensive course "Introduction to Social Science"

Message from Prof. ORSI.

Dear Students,

Thanks for your participation to the "Introduction to Social Science" over the past weekend. In the first half of the course we have had a look at the more general problems of social science in terms of epistemological and methodological approaches, and given a sense of why methodological pluralism, and even teamwork, has emerged as a crucially important dimension of social science research, and its applications.
Next weekend (February 22-23) we will be having a series of excellent guest speakers: prof. David Cope from Oxford University, Prof. Tatsujiro Suzuki and Ms. Matsuo. On Sunday, we will return to other more general yet pressing issues (social policy, ethics, communication). It is important that you try to cover at least some of the readings indicated by the guest speakers for the lecture and that you find listed in the Course Handbook.
My office hours timetable is the following: Wednesday, from 15:00 to 17:00, Ito International Research Center, floor 4. Please feel free to drop by if you have any question. If you cannot make it for this office hours, please email me and we can arrange a meeting at a mutually convenient time. In any case, please contact me by email if anything needs further clarification, I will try to answer as soon as materially possible.
I wish you all a nice and productive week!

Best regards,
