Seeking a teaching assistant (TA) for an introductory Econometrics course for graduate students at the master level. The TA will primarily be responsible for grading problem sets, and for teaching a weekly practice session that accompanies the lecture.

The course presents students with Econometrics tools for Economics and public policy research. While the foundations of model estimation and statistical inference are emphasized, the course is mainly empirical rather than theoretical. Therefore, the practice session focuses on the implementation of Stata to practice the methods covered in the course. The TA is also expected to go through problem sets in in practice session.

To Apply

Candidates must have taken master level Econometrics (or Applied Econometrics for Public Policy). Candidates must be able to teach a weekly practice session in the 5th period (16:40-18:20) on Friday during the Winter Semester. The ideal candidates are those who are using Stata intensively for their own research and would like to improve their teaching skill in English. Interested candidates send their basic information to Dr. Kuo by email (chkuo@iuj.ac.jp) or contact the GraSPP Graduate School Office. The basic information should contain the grade in Econometrics or Applied Econometrics in Public Policy.

(There is a required application procedure, which will take some time. The actual work will begin right after the agreement with Dr. Kuo, but the official adoption will be start after finishing the process in November.)
