LKY Study Trip in Japan 2016

[Synopsis]
The purpose of the trip is to provide opportunities for students of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (LKYSPP) and GraSPP to study Japanese public policy through discussions and sight visits to actual stakeholders in the field of Japanese public policy, including ministries and local governments, NGOs and relevant business enterprises. The Study Trip is very popular among both LKY and GraSPP students every year, and this time is the 6th anniversary trip. There will be funding available for students who help prepare for the trip, which will cover a part of costs of the trip. This year, we will be focusing on 'National Security of Japan and Asia', 'Japan's Industry, Science and Technology Policy', 'Education Policy'. This will also serve as a great opportunity to do networking between the two top schools of Asia involving major actors of public policy in Japan.

① All current and incoming students of GraSPP
② Participants are required to help prepare for the program

[Number of positions]
5, 6 students
*If we receive more than 6 applications, we will consult the participants to adjust the number after closing the application. (Ability to speak both Japanese and English and to participate in all schedule of this program is preferred.)

[Cost]
Accommodations and Transportation outside of Tokyo will mainly be funded by the program, however in some cases, you may be asked to pay around 10,000 yen.
*Due to the school’s regulations, you will receive the subsidies after the event. Therefore, we ask you to pay the fees (52,170 yen) in advance.

LKY Japan Study Trip 2016 のお知らせ

＜概要＞
LKY Japan Tripとはシンガポール国立大学リークアンユー公共政策大学院（以下、LKY）の学生たちが日本の官公庁や地方自治体などの公共機関･民間企業を訪問するツアーです。GraSPPの学生も合流し、共に各地を訪問しようというものです。毎年双方の学生から大高い評価を受けており、今年は第六回目の開催となります。運営に協力して頂いた方の費用は一部補助される予定です。今年のJapan Tripのテーマは、日本の「安全保障政策」「産業・科学技術政策」「教育政策」の3つです。多様なバックグラウンドをもつLKY学生との交流や、公共機関･企業等の訪問先でディスカッションを楽しむまたとない機会です。ぜひ、奮ってご応募ください！

＜内容＞
ツアー運営（訪問先の調整、ワークショップの企画・運営、ツアー後の報告書の作成等、各人の能力や都合に合わせて分担し行う予定）

＜参加資格＞
① 現在東京大学公共政策大学院に在籍しているか、４月からの入学が決まっていること
② ツアー運営（訪問先の調整、ワークショップの企画・運営、ツアー後の報告書の作成等、各人の能力や都合に合わせて分担し行う予定）への協力が可能なこと

＜募集人数＞
５、６名程度（応募多数の場合、応募者と相談の上人数調整を行います。その際、全日程に参加できる人、英語日本語双方の能力のある人を優先させていただきます。）

＜費用＞
東京外での交通・宿泊費は補助の対象となる予定です（上限有）が、場合によっては10,000円ほどの自己負担額が発生する可能性があります。 ※また、東京大学旅費制度の規程により、交通・宿泊費１人当たり52,170円は後日支給となるため、一時的に立て替えていただくこととなります。
