CAMPUS Asia ProgramCurriculum

CurriculumCurriculum

Course Requirements

  • "Foreign Exchange" students are required to meet the requirements of their home institution.
  • "Double Degree" students are required to meet both the requirements of their home institution and visiting institution.

The number of credits that participating students actually need in order to complete the CAMPUS Asia exchange program varies depending on whether they opt for "Foreign Exchange (EX)" or "Double Degree (DD)." For example, GraSPP students on the EX track just need to meet GraSPP requirements. They can graduate from the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) in two years if they achieve 46 credits, including at least 12 credits transferred from Seoul National University (SNU) or Peking University (PKU) to UTokyo. There is a wide range of course options available to exchange students studying at SNU and PKU. For students on the DD track, on the other hand, it is necessary for GraSPP students to meet the requirements of both GraSPP and the other school where the students wish to earn their second degree. The workload for DD students tends to be heavier than that of EX students. However, because all students (EX and DD) can transfer credits earned at SNU or PKU as either a) simply the number of credits earned or b) equivalent courses to those offered at GraSPP, DD students can take advantage of mutual recognition on course matching and credit transfer to expedite their taking two degrees within a period of study where usually only a single degree could be obtained.
