Description
We will explain why foreign policies are different or similar among countries and issue areas of each country, considering the ongoing globalization in this course. At first, we will examine structural conditions which influence foreign policies such as the country’s position in the international affairs and characteristics of the foreign policy process which vary with actors and other operating factors. Then, we will investigate how foreign policies are formulated and decided in the issue areas, focusing on such factors as information, analytical ability, domestic interests, political leadership and popular support.
