The North Korea Crisis and Peace in Northeast Asia

This course will analyze the development of international politics concerning North Korea from Sep. 2002 to Feb. 2005, along with the dynamics of decision making toward North Korea by individual nations. Of particular interest will be the following:

(1) The actors and their mutual relations
(2) Individual interests and concerns
(3) Trade-off between policies
(4) Factors influencing policy decisions, especially domestic factors including political culture
(5) Historical backgrounds
