Description
Formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policy are mainly systematic activities by administrative organizations. In order to effectively conduct those systematic activities, it is inevitable to manage them appropriately.
In this class, I will first relate its basic theory and examine management cycle of planning, implementation and evaluation, basic resources in public management, such as financial resources, human resources, information and rules. Next, focusing on administrative organizations and civil service system in Japan , I will consider organization and personnel management.
Financial management, another important factor of public management, will be discussed in Public Management II.
In the class, I will first give a brief summary of each issue using reference
materials, and then hold class discussion for further understanding. Announcement
and materials of class will be published in my HP.
