Description

International Political Economy (IPE) is a field that straddles between International Politics and Economics and covers a wide-ranging gamut of topics. Therefore, this class will deal with various topics such as trade, finance, regional integration, development, environment, human rights, immigration and so forth. Students should pursue their own research depending on their interest, and this class will provide a forum for feedback.

We shall start with the discussion of some basic readings (such as Ravenhill’s Global Political Economy ) to share some common ground among the students. After some training on research methods, the students are expected to do their own research as well as further reading. At the end of the semester, the students will have a chance to present the results of their research projects.

A list of further readings will be provided at the beginning of the semester.
