Description
Today, the evolution of Social Security Law Policy is highly considerable
because of economic and social changes resulting from aging society, decreasing
fecundity, stagnation of economic growth, globalization of economy etc.
As social security schemes have direct influences on people’s ordinary
life and on economic activities of country, their weight is really important
among government’s public policies.
In this course, the most recent trends of Japanese social security law
policy will be presented ant analyzed, especially by inviting several
officers of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
This course will start by Introduction examining the matters such as social
security and economy, social security and demography as well as comparatives
studies on social security policy. This Introduction will be followed
by case studies of recent reforms accomplished or prepared in three mains
fields of social security policy ?compulsory sickness insurance and health
care, compulsory retirement pension and social services including care
of dependent elder people.
