Description

This course introduces the basic framework of central banking, such as the conduct of monetary policy as well as other operations, focusing mainly on the practices at the Bank of Japan. The course covers the topics below.

4. Payment and settlement system
5. Financial system stability
6. International coordination among central banks
7. Legal structure of central banks
8. History of central banks

Course materials

No specific textbook will be used for this course. Reading materials will be assigned in the class, including publications from the Bank of Japan.
