Description

This case study will be conducted in English. The topics for a group can be chosen with consultation, but possible topics for the case study include the followings:

(1A) Impacts of a financial bubble and its collapse on the financial system
(1B) Should policies be employed to preemptively stop bubble to become large
(2A) Should the Bank of Japan adopt inflation targeting?
(2B) How could Japan overcome “deflation”?
(3A) Sustainability of government debt
(3B) What is an appropriate “fiscal rule”?

Prerequisites: Knowledge of Macroeconomics and Statistical method (or Econometrics)
