The Social Security and Tax Number System
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has noticed the Social Security and Tax Number System to students as follows.
The Japanese government will adopt the Social Security and Tax Number System in order to (1) enhance the social security to people who truly need it, (2) enhance public convenience and (3) develop the efficiency in administration.
Your municipality will send a notification card showing your Individual Number to the address appearing in your resident record in October 2015.

マイナンバー（社会保障・税番号）制度に関するお知らせ
文部科学省よりマイナンバー制度について以下のとおりお知らせがありました。
平成27年10月から、日本国内に住所を有する全ての方に12桁のマイナンバーが通知されます。
10月5日時点の住民票の住所に送付されるため、学生寮等に現在居住しているものの、引き続き保護者等が居住する住所に住民登録をされている方は、通知カードが保護者等が居住する住所に送付されますので、御注意ください。
