Description

Bioethics and the law is a new course to discuss various health law issues such as life and death decisions, genetic diseases and rationing of scarce medical resources. A casebook for this course is "Case Study: Bioethics and the Law," published by Yuhikaku Publishing Company in 2004. This casebook includes 13 hypothetical cases on medical ethics and the law, about which lawyers, physicians, and other experts have made comments from different perspectives. In addition, each case is followed by notes and questions, and the students are to prepare for reading and answering them in advance.

In each class, we take a case one by one to discuss and think about the role of law in hard circumstances.
