Case Study (Modern Administration I)

Faculty

A. Morita

Description

This course covers some cases of decision making in the creation of modern Japanese policy.  We will study this course through discussion.  The concrete theme of the course this year will be announced on my website http://www.j.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~morita/   during the summer vacation.  Using recent administrative problems as materials, we will analyse what characteristics the problems have, assess their solutions, and so on.

Also, in order to make our study multidimensional, we will debate the problems both from defensive and critical standpoints.  Through this process students will learn how to write a persuasive argument, as well as learn presentation techniques.
