Description

This course introduces students to analytical framework to study industry structure and firm behavior. The main goal is to familiarize students with the important topics in regulation policies today, and put students in a position to do their own research in this area. The course begins with an extensive discussion of oligopoly markets and competition. The rest of the course addresses a variety of topics including mixed oligopoly and public enterprises and regulations for telecommunications, electric powers, natural gas, and transportations.
