This was my first time in Japan, and I can’t be more thankful that I was able to visit and live in the country through CAMPUS Asia. I had no idea what to expect through my studies here as this was my first time and I can honestly say that I never knew much about the Japanese culture and the history except through textbooks and the media. However, I was able to fit right in because Todai offered so much support and help not only in terms administrative issues but also extracurricular activities.
I was also honored to have taken classes by Professors who had field-work experience and meet people from such diverse backgrounds. Even though I was only here for a semester I was able to learn so much and make friendships that are very dear to me that I won’t forget. I am so grateful to all the professors, coordinators and friends for giving me the opportunity to experience and learn from these cross-cultural experiences. Another important aspect of my stay here at Tokyo University was The CAMPUS Asia Course. Not only did we gain a lot of insight from the different professors that came to give us lectures but we also had an opportunity to go on a field trip to Hiroshima. This trip not only strengthened the relationships between the students but personally gave me new perspectives on the relations between China, Japan and Korea. I hope and believe that the students of this program will be the future leaders of East Asia and they may influence to bring better cooperation between the countries.
