(Need your cooperation!) Survey for GPPN Women’s Network
The LSE Women's Network invites all students at participating GPPN schools to participate in the first annual Gender and Policy Conference.
The Women's Network at the LSE was launched in 2018 to provide an inclusive space for all genders to connect, collaborate, and network on issues pertaining to gender and policy, as well as diversity and policy on a broader scale. Over the past year, the network has hosted a series of events, ran a successful mentorship programme for Public Policy students, and played an advocacy role within the LSE and the school's push for diversity and equality.
This year, the Women's Network has gone global - and connected with various students at the other GPPN schools. Thus sparked the demand for the first annual Gender and Policy Conference for GPPN students.
The Gender and Policy Conference will be hosted by the LSE here in London, UK in 2020. The duration of the conference will be 2 days, beginning on a Friday evening and ending on a Sunday morning. Over the course of the conference, delegates will have the opportunity to listen to inspiring speakers, engage in educational workshops, and network with their peers. All students within the GPPN network - inclusive of all genders - are welcome to attend the weekend conference as delegates.
The purpose of this Google Form is to gauge interest amongst GPPN students for the conference, as well as ability and willingness to travel to London.

With many thanks for your time

REPOST [Call for Application] A2 Intensive: Case Study (GraSPP Policy Challenge 2019 – Global Innovative Public Policy Solutions)
Do you have a proposed solution to an important public policy problem? Can you apply your analytical skills to solve a policy issue? Do you want to showcase your idea during an international conference? Do you want to meet creative students from all around the world?
Apply, collaborate internationally and go to London!
GraSPP Policy Challenge (GPC) offers the unique opportunity to students from diverse background to collaborate and seek to improve their team-building and policy-making skills. Participants are tasked with responding to pressing real-world policy challenges as a group, and with designing policies and proposals in response to those challenges.
All students from GraSPP/STIG/GSDM are strongly encouraged to apply. Finalist groups will be ultimately invited to present at the GPPN Student Conference* at London School of Economics and Political Sciences in February to March 2020. Theme The theme for GPC 2019 is ‘Inequality’. This broad theme can be interpreted from many different perspectives: as well as wealth or income inequality we also witness inequality of societal outcomes and of opportunities; gender, ethnic and religious inequality; inequality resulting from the climate emergency; resource inequality; inequality between global regions but also within nation states (geographically and societally); inequality of rights; inequality of access to food, healthcare, technology and education; and inequality of personal safety. Any of these inequalities, and many others in addition, would fit within the scope of the theme of the conference. The Challenge In this context, we invite students to identify an important policy challenge in any field related to inequality and in any regional, international or national context. Proposals can incorporate public, private or hybrid approaches as appropriate. We are looking for student presentations on public policy proposals that demonstrate: A precise identification and analysis of an important and pressing public policy problem; this precise analysis of the problem will need to be clear prior to discussion of any possible solutions A strong use of analytics and empirics and how these can be applied to inform a solution to the public policy problem identified An astute understanding of how policy solutions can be implemented given the interests of the policy actors in the chosen context A clear awareness of when similar solutions have been tried in the past, why they were successful or how they can be amended in order to be successful in the future.Application
