*Click the image for MPP/IP website Master of Public Policy, International Program (MPP/IP) strives to cultivate future professionals who will be successful on the global scale with a global perspective. Students are required to take courses conducted in English. The requirement of studying in English provides a rigorous environment where prominent Japanese and International students can study together and academically challenge one another. The program’s internationally competitive curriculum is bolstered with an academic environment unique to Japan. In addition, the option of enrolling in a Double Degree Program provides students with the opportunity of pursuing a degree at both the University of Tokyo and other world-class Graduate Schools. MPP/IP provides an environment where students can broaden their horizon through the Double Degree Program or through courses that address Asia-specific issues. With scholarship opportunities provided by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, students from abroad, especially from the Asian region, can receive financial support. Completion Requirements In order to complete the program of study at the Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP), you must be enrolled for two years or longer and earn 46 course credits or more (see Article 3, Paragraph 1 and Article 4, Paragraph 1 of The University of Tokyo Rules for the Graduate School of Public Policy). In addition, you must complete the required courses in your division (sub-specialization) and gain credits for them (see Article 6, Paragraph 3 of the same Rules). You may include up to 8 credit points earned for courses taken at other post-graduate research faculties/schools ,the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, or an undergraduate faculty, when calculating the required credits for completion of the degree (see Article 8 of the same Rules). You cannot register more than 38 credits of courses in one academic year (see Article 11, Paragraph 2 of the same Rules). For information regarding research papers, theses, the taking of courses offered by other graduate schools, and the transfer of credits earned prior to enrolment, please refer to The University of Tokyo Rules for the Graduate School of Public Policy. Take note that you may not register for courses which have the same name as the courses for which you have already earned credits for. A module with more than two completion requirements will be counted as meeting all relevant completion requirements. International Program (MPP/IP) Division　　AY 2016 A minimum of six credits listed below from the field of politics and law: Law and Public Policy International Conflict Study Science, Technology and Public Policy Modern Japanese Diplomacy Policy Process and Negotiation Comparative Analysis of Japanese Economic Policy-Making Process Governance and Development Japanese Politics Politics and Public Policy Introduction to International Politics Security Studies Public International Law and Domestic Implementation Japanese Government Japanese Government and Politics International Politics in East Asia Introduction to Public Management Human Security: Asian Perspectives Field Seminar in International Relations Conflict Prevention and Post-Conflict Politic Insurgency and Counterinsurgency Transformation of Warfare and Technology * Subjects falling under this requirement were added. When the enrollee in AY 2015 or before acquire credits of those added subjects, it is counted as completion requirements credits of this requirement. Besides, it is also counted when you have taken them in AY 2015 or before. Completion of economics courses below: (1) A or B Microeconomics for Public Policy, Practice Session for Microeconomics for Public Policy Microeconomics, Practice Session for Microeconomics Note: If you have completed and earned credit for Advanced Microeconomics I given by the Faculty of Economics orMicroeconomics I given by the Graduate School of Economics and Advanced Microeconomics II given by the Faculty of Economics or Microeconomics II given by the Graduate School of Economics, you do not need to take these courses in the GraSPP program.
