This guest speaker seminar is organized in conjunction with Case Study (Writing Public Policy Cases for SDGs), which aims to discuss the public policy-related challenges and opportunities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Megumi Muto is going to share her experience in working on rehabilitation and recovery efforts in the Philippines after Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

About the guest speaker: Immediately before joining JICA Ogata Research Institute in April 2020, Dr. Muto was Director General of Global Environment Department. Her research interests include effects of physical infrastructure on poverty dynamics, market integration, human resource outcomes, and agglomeration of industries. She received her Master in Public Affairs from Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University, and her Ph.D. from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).
