The lecture will shed light on the current economic, social and ecological challenges arising digitalisation. It will discuss the impact on jobs, inequality and working conditions and offer an understanding of the likely evolution of the current technological paradigm. Using the framework of an AI trilemma, it will offer a novel way of understanding the role of technological development, regulation and governance to discuss cross-country differences in their approach to digitalisation and the evolution of artificial intelligence as well as the likely outcomes for the world of work.
This seminar is open to all students and faculties at the University of Tokyo.
