SPRING GX
The University of Tokyo “Fostering Advanced Human Resources to Lead Green Transformation (GX)” project (Project officer: Professor Shin-ichi Ohkoshi) supported by Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by Next Generation (SPRING) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) is a project involving approximately 1,307 doctoral students (including those in 4-year doctoral programs) from across the university. New SPRING GX has started in April 2024.
We recruit ca. 350 students entering the doctoral course in Spring 2026.
Applicants:
A person who will be admitted to the doctoral program of the university’s graduate school (including 4-year doctoral course) in Spring 2026.
(M2 students currently enrolled in WINGS are also eligible.)
Number of students to be admitted:
Around 350 students (Domestic Students: Approximately 300, International Students: Approximately 50)

BOOST NAIS
Supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) under the BOOST initiative for young researchers and doctoral students in national strategic areas, the University of Tokyo’s project “Advanced AI Talent Development to Lead the Next-Generation Intelligent Society (BOOST NAIS)” is open to all doctoral students (including those in 4-year doctoral programs) at the university. We are now seeking approximately 20 project participants who enroll in the doctoral program in the spring of 2026.

Applicants for the doctoral programs starting in Spring 2026, including those in 4-year doctoral programs.

Around 20 students
