NOTICE: Applications for exemptions of admission fee in April 2022 and tuition for AY2022 Those who wish to apply for admission fee and/or tuition exemptions, please see the following web page and mail application documents to the Student Scholarship and Welfare Group’s Scholarship Team by respective deadlines. Please note that NO applications after the deadlines are accepted for any reason. Also, in case there are flaws in application, as it takes much more time for further communication, we strongly recommend that you mail it well in advance. Application guidelines and forms are available on the following web page after Tuesday, 15 February. Application Procedure for 2022, Admission / Tuition Fee Exemption (PDF, 199KB)If you would like to apply for both admission fee and tuition exemptions, you need to submit applications at the same time.

Exam for courses offered at School of Law and Faculty of law will be conducted online. Please recheck the link below. Please also check the bulletin board after loggin in to UTAS. NOTICE: Result of Tuition Fee Exemption for the Second Half of AY2021
NOTICE: Result of Tuition Fee Exemption for the Second Half of AY2021 The Student Scholarship and Welfare Group has announced the result of Tuition Fee Exemption for the Second Half of AY2021 on UTAS. Students who applied for the tuition exemption should read the following notice and check the result through UTAS. Especially graduating students in March 2022, if you have been approved for reduced payment or have had your application rejected, please make sure to complete the tuition payment by the following schedule. In case you do not complete the payment in time, you cannot go ahead the graduation procedure. The results of the selection for the tuition fee exemption have been announced on the UTokyo Academic affairs System (UTAS). Please log in to UTAS and check the “Student Info” section. Please note that Thursday, 27 January is the scheduled withdrawal date. Students who have been approved for reduced payment or have had their application for tuition fee exemption rejected and have arranged to pay their tuition by direct debit, should make sure they have deposited the amount equivalent to their tuition fees into their account by 3pm on Wednesday, 26 January. Students who have not registered for direct debit should pay their tuition in accordance with the invoice that will be sent separately. The purpose of this program is to help students who excel academically but suffer economic hardships so that they do not give up continuing their academic studies. Under the current serious financial conditions, the number of applicants has been rapidly increasing.
