NOTICE: Removal of personal belongings in the GraSPP Student Space (Fri. 15 Nov.) Based on the rules of GraSPP students’ space, GraSPP will remove all personal belongings including items on desks on the following date. In case you reserve or occupy spaces with your personal belongings, please bring them back as soon as possible. Friday, 15th November, 2019 Reserving or occupying spaces with unattended personal belongings is NOT allowed. After using, please take all your belongings and keep a desk clean. GraSPP is not liable for any loss or damage of personal belongings in Students Study Hall. -

To students who have been affected by the Typhoon Hagibis (2019)
The University of Tokyo will provide the following support to students who have suffered due to the Typhoon Hagibis in 2019. Please contact the relevant offices listed below if you require support. 【Financial and Housing Reliefs】 Students who have difficulties continuing to be enrolled at the University because of financial problems as a result of Typhoon Hagibis and are from the areas designated for relief by the Disaster Relief Act, may request for the following financial aids: entrance fee exemption, tuition fees exemption, and scholarships from JASSO (Japanese Student Services Organization). Please contact the Scholarship Team of the Student Scholarship and Welfare Group in Hongo Campus. Phones: 03-5841-2520 or 03-5841-2548 Students who have difficulties continuing to be enrolled at the University because of financial problems as a result of Typhoon Hagibis and are from the areas designated for relief by the Disaster Relief Act, may request to move into the accommodations (the International Hall of Residence). Winter Internship for International Students (October 25 updated)
Application for Winter Internship offered to GraSPP international students is now open. Application Please submit the following documents to <ppsupport[at]pp.u-tokyo.ac.jp> (replace [at] with @) with the subject line “Winter Internship Application 2019”. a) Application Form b) CV (with your portrait photo) c) Statement of Purpose (for each institution); for IIMA, please also submit a research plan with the paper outline (not more than 400 words) 2. Submission deadline Thursday, October 31, 2019 3. Important notice for scholarship recipients a) World Bank scholars are only allowed to apply for unpaid internship and need to notify to the World Bank by sending information on the internship to JJ/WBGSP email address. b) ADB scholars need to notify to the ADB by a letter with information on the internship through GraSPP Office before applying for the internship and obtain permission from the ADB first. c) IMF scholars are only allowed to apply for unpaid internship with approval both from their sponsoring agency and GraSPP before application. d) JDS scholars need to consult with JICE for the procedure before starting internship. 4. Selection interview Selection interview by faculty members will be arranged in mid-November. Each host institution will be notified only of applicants shortlisted after the interview as recommended candidates for final selection. The result will be notified individually by e-mail from GraSPP Office. 5. Others a) For your information, please check through the to-do list after you get shortlisted as recommended candidates. b) If you would like to know past internship cases, please look at the internship reports. c) Once you complete internship, you are required to submit a report (300-500 words).
