■Purpose

This symposium will be held to understand the current situation of agriculture in Africa, which is facing a lot of damage due to global boiling, and to consider a new framework to contribute to solving these problems by applying the results of basic science research in Japan. The symposium will feature lectures by leading researchers from both inside and outside the university, together with government officials and researchers from African countries such as Uganda and Ethiopia, as well as stakeholders from the United Nations and JICA working in those regions, to provide an opportunity to create a new framework for extreme weather measures.
