Jody is dedicated to helping people to characterize and express their leadership as a personal practice, and has done so in endeavors spanning policy, business, and academic spheres in Asia, Europe, and North America. She leads courses and programs in leadership development at Hitotsubashi University Business School and at the Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo. She is Faculty Director for several customized educational programs for Japanese and international companies, such as the innovative Leading for Sustainability Forum, the Roundtable on Next-Generation Leadership in Japan, and the Forward Leadership Forum: Integrating Mindset and Skillset. Jody has extensive coaching experience, having worked one-on-one with executives, next-gens, and team managers in many leading companies across a diversity of industries. She incorporates coaching also as a requirement for students in her degree program courses. Over the years, she has coached hundreds of people of all ages, nationalities, and career stages, supporting the efforts of each and every person to define and mobilize personal leadership identity, drivers, and actions. Jody served as an Outside Director for Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd., from 2019 to 2023, appointed as the company's first female and first non-Japanese director. Currently, Jody is Senior Advisor for G3 (Good Governance Group) Japan, a global strategic intelligence advisory. Jody is a graduate of Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs (MPP '03), New York University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (MA '93), and American University's School of International Service (BA '89).
