The detailed information regarding “English Camp in Nasu” is ready to be announced!!
■What’s English Camp in Nasu?:
The Kita Ward Board of Education organizes a 3-day English camp for junior high school students (8th graders, ages 13–14) in Kita Ward, Tokyo. The aim is to help them experience English in real communication settings and build confidence through fun cultural and outdoor activities with international student volunteers.
This long-running program began in 2002. Every year, both Japanese students and international students discover, grow, and enjoy learning together!
■Period:
Various dates available (“Rounds”) this summer as follows:
<Session 1: JULY>
Round 01: Jul 6 (Sun) – Jul 8 (Tue) / Pre-MTG: Jul 5 (Sat)
Round 02: Jul 8 (Tue) – Jul 10 (Thu) / Pre-MTG: Jul 7 (Mon)
Round 03: Jul 10 (Thu) – Jul 12 (Sat) / Pre-MTG: Jul 9 (Wed)
Round 04: Jul 13 (Sun) – Jul 15 (Tue) / Pre-MTG: Jul 12 (Sat)
Round 05: Jul 15 (Tue) – Jul 17 (Thu) / Pre-MTG: Jul 14 (Mon)

*You may apply for one or multiple rounds depending on your availability.
*Each round requires participation in a mandatory pre-meeting (starts at 6:30 p.m. the day before).
■Place:
Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture
■Eligibility:
① People who have the energy and enjoy being with young teenagers at the junior high school level.
② Must be proficient in English (regardless of nationality).
③ Should be enrolled in a university or a technical school in Japan by the time you apply for the program. (Exchange students and those who have done EC in Nasu or ESC in Nasu program before are accepted.)
④ Must pass an interview with the EC staff.
⑤ Those who are currently working as an ALT are also eligible to apply.
■Fee:
Free!
The organizer, Kita Ward Board of Education, will pay all expenses for accommodation, food, insurance and round-trip transportation from the pre-meeting location to Nasu.
■Remuneration:
20,000 yen per round
*Please note that each round participated in requires the student participant to attend a mandatory meeting the night before the program begins, and all camp duties must be performed.
■Application Deadline:
July Rounds: June 13th (Fri)
September Rounds: August 8th (Fri)
*It might be extended depending on the number of applicants.
