GraSPP held an event “Urgent Debate: Eurasian Geopolitics” on March 30, 2022.
As a graduate school of public policy in Japan, in order to properly convey what is happening in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we read this war from a geopolitical perspective and discussed the impact of the rapidly changing international order and economic sanctions.
Professor Kazuto Suzuki of the School of Public Policy spoke about comprehensive perspectives on international politics and geoplics, followed by Assistant Professor Sahashi of the Institute of Advanced Studies on Asia, speaking about the impact on the international order, and Professor Kenichi Ueda of the Graduate School of Public Policy, discussing economic sanctions against Russia. At the end of the event, Dr. Valentyna Romanova, a Ukrainian political scientist living in Japan, joined us as a discussant to comment on the event, while also taking questions from the audience.
