Notification of ChangesChanges are highlighted in red

Let me announce that two changes have been made to the original program:

  • The lecturer and the theme of the fourth lecture (scheduled either on June 12 or 19) has been changed due to tight schedule of the original lecturer, Victoria Kwakwa. New lecturer is Annette Dixon, Vice President, HD (Human Development), Global Practice, World Bank. She will talk about human development operations including fight against COVID-19. The date is either on June 12 or 19. As soon as she confirms the date, I will let you know. If you are interested in her lecture, please register through the link below (Even if you have enrolled to the original lecture, you need to register again through the link below).
  • Additional lecture is offered as a sixth lecture of this program. The lecture will be on Friday 8:30-10:15 am through WebEx. The lecturer is Yuko Keicho, Director, GIA (Group Internal Audit), World Bank Group. She will discuss what is needed for the WBG to effectively implement key operations related to COVID-19, gender, and climate change from the internal auditor’s viewpoint. If you are interested in her lecture, please register through the link below

Don’t miss the lectures by senior management of the World Bank!

Don’t miss the lectures by senior management of the World Bank!

My name is Hiroshi Naka. I am Professor of the Institute of Future Initiatives, University of Tokyo and teach “Operations of the World Bank Group” at GraSPP.

This class consists of 13 lectures, five of which will be taught by senior management of the World Bank. They teach from Washington DC or Tashkent through web (Webex).  The five lectures cover development projects in East, Central and South Asia, operational challenges, and treasury operations.

These lectures are not limited to the registered students of GraSPP but are open to any students including undergraduate students of U-Tokyo and other universities. Even students of Kyoto University can access to the lectures. The target audience is those who are interested in working for the World Bank or in the development projects in the future.

If you want to listen to a lecture/lectures, please register at the link below for each lecture.

I hope you will be enjoying the lecture(s). Please don’t miss this precious opportunity for you!

All the lectures will be online lectures due to the neo corona virus infections. A Webex invitation will be sent to your email account at least one day before the lecture. You can join in Webex lecture by pressing the link in the invitation. If the link does not work, you can get in Webex by typing the meeting ID and password. Please mute your microphone during the lecture. When Q&A starts and if you have a question, unmute and let me know that you have a question.

Since the planned lecturers are currently so busy to address issues caused by the neo corona virus, please notice that a lecture schedule or a lecturer may change suddenly. When that happens I will let you know by email.

If you are a GraSPP student and have completed course registration, you don’t need to register these five lectures.
