GraSPP Office is looking for students who could help with English proofreading and English-Japanese (or Japanese-English) translation. Requests for proofreading/ translation will be sent irregularly and will be paid per document product. Responsibilities: -Proofreading reports written by students/ alumni. -Translating reports written by students/ alumni. -Proofreading or translating other articles/ documents that will be shown on our website, newsletter, etc. *Contents will be rather general than academic. *Please indicate which tasks (English proofreading, Japanese-English translation, or English-Japanese Translation) you are capable. Requirements: 1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in GraSPP. 2. Applicants must have sufficient reading & writing skills in English. 3. Those who have experience in writing articles & columns, or have experience in English-Japanese or Japanese-English translation are appreciated. On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Dr. Carolin Klonner, Postdoc at the Chair of GIScience, Institute of Geography, Heidelberg University will give a lecture in Kyoto. She will be introducing the Sketch Map Tool that can be applied in various scenarios in information exchange and the implementation of appropriate measures, for example in the context of natural disasters. Call for applications to be nominees for the select members of the Climate Overshoot Commission’s Youth Engagement Group
The Climate Overshoot Commission seeks the nomination of five GraSPP students to be candidates for the select members of the Climate Overshoot Commission’s Youth Engagement Group.
Students willing to be nominated are asked to submit a CV (Free format, not more than two pages) and a statement of motivation (not more than 300 words) here.
A statement of motivation should answer the two main questions: 1. What motivates you to engage in global governance on climate change? 2. Can you identify one core issue the international society currently faces when discussing the climate? Why did you choose this issue?
The submission deadline is 17:00 on Thursday, October 27.
