The Australian Embassy Tokyo is honoured to welcome Dr Graham Farquhar AO, Australian National University, during his visit to Japan as the first Australian to win the prestigious  Kyoto Prize.

Dr Farquhar is the 2017 Kyoto Prize Laureate in Basic Sciences for his work on photosynthesis and its contributions to the understanding of global environmental changes.

We welcome Prof Atsushi Sunami, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) to join Dr Farquhar to unveil how his scientific research and expertise impacts on global issues by contributing to the development of science policy.
