GraSPP welcomed the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Consultative Board members, headed by Secretary-General Mr. Hee-sup Lee, on November 21, 2023. Following greetings, Dean Keisuke Iida, Professors Toshiro Nishizawa and Takahiro Hattori discussed with the Consultative Board members future partnership opportunities aligned with the spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on February 10, 2023. The MOU emphasizes mutual efforts to strengthen cooperative relations through regular communication to provide students with internship opportunities and facilitate academic, cultural, and people-to-people exchange activities, such as youth exchange projects related to People’s Republic of China (PRC)-Japan-the Republic of Korea (ROK) cooperation. Secretary General Lee requested inputs from GraSPP about topics and interests of the CAMPUS Asia alumni community for TCS to make its planned alumni workshop fruitful.

Upon the agreement signed and ratified by each of the three governments, the TCS was officially inaugurated in Seoul in September 2011. The establishment of TCS marked a significant milestone and achievement in the institutionalization of trilateral cooperation among the three countries that started in 1999.
