“The Japan Times × GraSPP webinar: Trends in economic security and Japan’s role” is now available on YouTube.
Abstract
Amid the growing threat to economic security, Japan and the West are trying to respond to the crisis by focusing on upholding the principles of free trade and maintaining a rules-based international order. Meanwhile, major changes are taking place in the international community, including the re-election of Trump as US president, the slowdown of the Chinese economy, and the strengthening of the EU’s economic security strategy.
With these latest international developments in mind, this webinar will be hosted by Professor Kazuto Suzuki of The University of Tokyo, with Jonathan Soble (former Tokyo Bureau Chief of the Financial Times, Partner at Kreab Tokyo) as moderator, and with Associate Professor Takahiro Tsuchiya of the Kyoto University of Advanced Science as a guest, to discuss the current situation surrounding Japan and future prospects.
