Scholarship: Go Global Scholarships First Call for the 2022 Short (3 month-1 year) and S-Short (less than 3 months) Study Abroad Scholarships *The application guideline and forms will be available shortly on the website below. The 2022 Short (3 month-1 year) and S-Short (less than 3 months) Study Abroad Scholarships application guideline will be announced on the Go Global website. Those who wish to apply for this scholarships should submit necessary documents to the Graduate School Office by the following deadline after reading the application guidelines carefully. Applicants need to receive an explanation on procedures for their study abroad from GraSPP Graduate School Office BEFORE submitting their application. To obtain the scholarship, students have to take out overseas travel insurance etc. before their departure, which covers the period of study abroad.

About GAUC  GAUC is a Global Alliance of Universities on Climate. Currently, 15 Universities form GAUC. The University of Tokyo is participating the alliance from its establishment in 2019. Tsinghua University is the secretariat.  https://gauc.net/   2.Purpose of the Program  The Climate x Leadership Program aims to provide students with frontier systematic practical training, and regional/global supporting communities to grow their knowledge to tackle climate issues.    3.Program Contents  The program consists of three parts. Programs are held online.  1) Courses：From June 18, 2022 to July 30, 2022 every Saturday. 9pm to 11pm (JST)  Organized by GAUC member university （Sciences Po、Imperial College London、Stellenbosch University and so on）  faculties in an interactive method that students will learn the knowledge and have the opportunity to speak up to lecturers and fellow classmates.  2) Group works: August 6, 2022, to August 27, 2022 every Saturday. 9pm to 11pm (JST)  3) Global Youth Summit on Net-Zero：October 30, 2022 to November 4, 2022.  *In the flyer, it says that outstanding ambassadors will have the opportunity to attend COP27 but UTokyo will not send students to Egypt.　   Eligible Applicants  Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students of the University of Tokyo with the following eligibility requirements: ・ Interested in climate change and sustainable development  ・Possess outstanding climate change leadership, research, or practice skills with specifically, 1) leadership experience organizing events such as forums and student unions; or 2)awards or published papers related to sustainability; 3) running civic climate action organization  ・Demonstrate strong English comprehension and expression abilities   Capacity  5 to 10 students from each GAUC member institution  If there are more than 10 applicants, there will be a selection based on the brief reason for applying.   Application Deadline  June 3, 2022, 1pm   Application Form  https://forms.office.com/r/PjUT1ns6WX   Inquiry  International Projects Promotion Group（gauc.adm@gs.mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp <mailto:gauc.adm@gs.mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp> ）

Important notice for scholarship recipients a) World Bank scholars are only allowed to apply for unpaid internship and need to notify to the World Bank by sending information on the internship to JJ/WBGSP email address. b) ADB scholars need to notify to the ADB by a letter with information on the internship through GraSPP Office before applying for the internship and obtain permission from the ADB first. c) IMF scholars are only allowed to apply for unpaid internship with approval both from their sponsoring agency and GraSPP before application. d) JDS scholars need to consult with JICE for the procedure before starting internship. 4. Selection interview Selection interview by faculty members will be arranged in the end of June. Each host institution will be notified only of applicants shortlisted after the interview as recommended candidates for final selection. The result will be notified individually by e-mail from GraSPP Office. 5.
