Additional Period for Class Registration and Withdrawal
To GraSPP students Considering the current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the classes started behind the schedule. For these classes, additional period for registration or withdrawal will be set. For those who need to additionally register or withdraw classes, please check the details below. ◆Additional register or withdrawal is available for classes in case the start time of the class has been delayed or cancelled. ◆Permission from the faculty member in charge is required. <Procedures> ①Send a request email using the sentences below(under -----------) by copying it for each professor(academic instructor), filling in necessary information and reason. And you have to receive an approval from him/her. --------------- Dear Prof. XXX, This email is to request you to admit the following student to register your course outside of the registration period at GraSPP. GraSPP does not allow any students to register or withdraw courses outside the registration period. However, regarding some classes started behind the schedule considering the current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, classes with permission from the faculty member could be additionally registered or canceled. If you give permission, please ask him/her to forward your yes response to the GraSPP Office cc'ing you. GraSPP office will take care of UTAS on their behalf. NOTICE: Guidelines on the implementation of UTokyo online courses The following online course guidelines have been issued by the UTokyo headquarters. Students should pay due attention to the following guidelines whenever they participate in online courses.Graduate School of Public Policy
Guidelines on the implementation of UTokyo online courses In order to prevent the further spread of the novel corona virus infection, UTokyo has shifted all courses to the online platform. This is the first-time experience for the University, and all students, faculty, and staff are working hard to enhance the education effect of online courses. Even in an emergency, it is required to act sensibility in terms of information security and intellectual property rights, and uphold social norms as responsible members of society. Please be aware that the following actions are prohibited regarding the online courses at UTokyo. Providing such information as the URL for participating in courses online to those who have no right to participate in those courses. *However, in case the server is down or the network connection is not good, it is not problematic to provide the access information (URL) to those who are authorized to participate in the relevant online courses. Providing to others who have no authority or uploading on the internet the downloaded materials, recordings of online courses or screen-captured image data from online courses without the professors’ permission. Legal action may be taken if you violate the copyright law. -

Don’t miss the lectures by senior management of the World Bank! My name is Hiroshi Naka. I am Professor of the Institute of Future Initiatives, University of Tokyo and teach “Operations of the World Bank Group” at GraSPP. This class consists of 13 lectures, five of which will be taught by senior management of the World Bank. They teach from Washington DC or Tashkent through web (Webex). The five lectures cover development projects in East, Central and South Asia, operational challenges, and treasury operations. These lectures are not limited to the registered students of GraSPP but are open to any students including undergraduate students of U-Tokyo and other universities. Even students of Kyoto University can access to the lectures. The target audience is those who are interested in working for the World Bank or in the development projects in the future.
