Overview:
Mr. Shimonishi will give us an overview of PPPs for infrastructure development in Asia and discuss issues of financing PPPs from lender’s perspectives.
Speaker’s Profile:
Mr. Shimonishi brings more than 10 years of experience in 9 emerging countries in infrastructure finance and investment banking business, including 7 years at The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU) and 3 years at Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). He led Asian infrastructure marketing team as Manager of Asian Origination Team, Structured Finance Division of BTMU and covered landmark projects in Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. He currently works for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) as Chief of Project Coordination Office on secondment from BTMU. His responsibility is deployment of Japanese high speed railway (Shinkansen) project overseas. He earned BA and MA in sociology from Kyoto University and attended the Executive Education, “Infrastructure in a Market Economy” at Harvard Kennedy School.
