Professor Nobuhiko Fuwa (Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo) suddenly and prematurely passed away on February 16th, 2018 at the age of 56. We express our most sincere condolences to his family. His funeral was held among his family members on February 25th.
Nobu has done outstanding research. He published many papers in international academic journals in development economics and agricultural economics as well as an edited book in English. He made significant achievements through his long-term involvement in various projects at international organizations, such as World Bank and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He guided and trained many students and researchers at Chiba University, Waseda University, and University of Tokyo. He also made significant contributions to academic societies: He served as a board member of Agricultural Economics Society of Japan, held editorial positions in several academic journals, and was President-Elect of Asian Society of Agricultural Economists. Having joined the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Tokyo in April 2016, he greatly contributed to newly established Doctoral Program in International Public Policy.
To remember Nobu a gathering of people who know him well will be held. We will look back on his achievements and share various memories and episodes. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this information with those who know him well but may not have received an invitation.

You can get books held by Nobu at the gathering. Please check his book stock. If you want some books, please fill the code number and title of the books you want in Other information in the registration form (see below). Your request should be no more than 10 books; if you want more than 10, please contact the secretariat. You will be given books you requested at the registration desk, though your request might not be fulfilled. You will not be notified whether you can receive books before the gathering.
